Mission, Vision & Values

The International Alliance for Pediatric Stroke is dedicated to building awareness, creating support, expanding education, and advancing research on behalf of children and their families, leading to a timely diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of pediatric stroke.

We have a vision that children will lead healthier, happier lives by immediate diagnosis, state-of-the-art treatment, and effective prevention of stroke until the day pediatric stroke is eradicated.

Core Values

  • Equality: We believe that, like adults, children equally deserve research dedicated to their diagnosis, treatment, and prevention.
  • Education: We understand that education leads to opportunity, and that children will have greater opportunity in their future if adults are educated today.
  • Collaboration: We know pieces of the puzzle, as do others. Working together, we will help more children.
  • Consistency: We credit consistency, both in screening for disease and delivering healthcare, for achieving improved global health.
  • Advocacy: We recognize the imperative responsibility to advocate for children in the adult world where decisions are made which significantly impact their lives.
  • Perseverance: We honor the parents who seek diagnoses, the medical providers who work toward better care, and especially the perseverance of children who endure the wait.
