The following camps are designed for children with stroke and other neurological issues. By providing this list, the International Alliance for Pediatric Stroke is not implying endorsement of any of the listings. We would like to make this list as comprehensive as possible, so please notify us with any updates or additions. The list has been updated as completely as possible for 2022. Thank you!
Camp Helping Hands, Helping Hands House,
West Caldwell, NJ

Ages 18 months to 18 years, however please contact them for information about their individualized programs for younger than 18 months and their teenagers/young adults program for 18 years old and above.
In addition to their expanding therapy services, they offer on-site accommodations for families on a first come, first serve basis who attend their Helping Hands programs. Housing and therapy programs are now available throughout the year. Families come from around the country as well as internationally for their intensive therapy programs and can now live on site for the 4 weeks their child receives our services.

Camp Kid Power, 2022 Flyer

Camp Kid Power is an intensive summer therapy camp for children with hemiplegia ages 4 to 16 years old. Occupational and physical therapists combine principles of modified constraint induced movement therapy, bimanual intensive training, and caregiver education into a fun and playful group environment.

CP Soccer
Multiple locations in the U.S.
Anyone from 7 to 18 years old with ambulatory CP, stroke or traumatic brain injury may join to play CP soccer. They now have teams in New York City, Clifton NJ, Towson MD, Delray Beach FL, Houston TX, Dallas TX, Somerville MA, Atlanta GA, Richmond VA, Scottsdale Arizona, Clemson SC, and Northern California. They have on online form to tell them about yourself (and your child), and they will reach out to talk about getting you on the field.
Crossway CIMT Summer Camp
Charlotte, North Carolina
July 11 – July 29, 2022 Application deadline is June 10th, 2022
Crossway Pediatric Therapy uses a multi-component approach including robotics to treat hemiplegia. Crossway is currently home to the ONLY Armeo Boom upper extremity robot rehab devices outside of a hospital or acute rehab setting in Charlotte, NC. This therapy specifically helps to improve mobility, range of motion and coordinated arm movements.
There will be a preschool age group consisting of age 2-4 and an older group age 5-14. You must be able to attend all 3 weeks of the camp in order to be accepted.

Ages 4 – 10 who need academic, communication and social skills reinforced through the summer.

Helping Kids with Hemiplegia

UNC Children’s offers Helping Kids with Hemiplegia – CIMT Camp, a therapeutic day camp incorporating modified constraint-induced movement therapy into fun, goal-oriented games and activities for kids ages 4 to 10 with with a diagnosis of hemiplegic cerebral palsy. Camp is staffed by licensed occupational and physical therapists and student volunteers.
Helping Kids with Hemiplegia CIMT Camp does not charge registration or program fees thanks to generous private donations from families, local businesses, fundraising events, grants and our volunteers. A $100 tax-deductible donation is encouraged to help sustain our program.

Boston Ability Center mCIMT Camp NEW FOR 2023!

The Boston Ability Center is happy to announce their 2023 intensive therapy camp for children ages 3-10 with hemiplegia. If your child has not participated in BAC Intensive Therapy Camp previously, please note that a screening call with a BAC clinician is required prior to registration to ensure that camp is the right fit for your child therapeutically. Powerhouse Therapy provides constraint-induced movement therapy and Bimanual Therapy for children with upper extremity weakness/Hemiplegia. Children participate in individual 1:1 intensive therapy with an occupational therapist for three or four week sessions.
