Our goal is to foster meaningful relationships among youth and adolescents with stroke who face similar challenges. We strive to provide unique opportunities and a safe environment to engage in various recreational and social activities. This group serves the youth of Calgary and Southern Alberta between 10 - 17 years of age who have experienced a perinatal or childhood stroke. The greatest benefit of the peer group is increased self-confidence among the youth and adolescents, as well as the formation of long-lasting relationships. This is an open-ended recreational peer group that meets twice a month for two hours at a time. The meetings are held at various locations around the city.
We are associated with the Calgary Pediatric Stroke Program (Alberta Children's Hospital), Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, Nunavut and the Northwest Territories, and the Stroke Recovery Association of Alberta.
